The Pasek Travel and Training Grant
2018 will mark my 25th year competing at both the Webster County Woodchopping Festival, and the Lumberjack World Championships. To celebrate, and to give back just a fraction of what the sport has given to me, I'm offering:
2 grants to deserving athletes, in the amount of $1500 US (or equivalent) each.
The awards are intended to be used for the purchase of gear, payment of entry fees, travel, or for other expenses of our sport.
One grant will be awarded to a competitor between the ages of 15-25, and the other to a competitor between the ages of 55-65 (age as of July 31, 2018).
To apply:
1) Complete and submit the form below, by July 31, 2018 to register as an "Applicant".
2) Send an email to webmaster@worldwidewoodchop.com with an attached essay explaining why you should be awarded one of the grants. If you don't know how to attach a document to an email, get some help. The essay should be between 500 - 1000 words. Spelling, grammar and punctuation count.
Note: Only 1 submission will be accepted per applicant. Submissions will become the property of worldwidewoodchop.com and may be used in promoting the Site and/or the Grant. Decisions of the Grant Committee (me and my brothers) are final. I/worldwidewoodchop.com reserve all rights to the grant(s), including award amounts; the right to make no award is also reserved.
My family has supported my woodchopping habit from the beginning. I've named this The Pasek Grant in honor of my parents, Jim and Marion; and my brothers, Paul and John. They continue to be the greatest fans a woodchopper could ask for.
